US stocks close higher Thursday as chip names lift Nasdaq 2.78%
US stocks finished Thursday in positive territory, according to market data cited by ChainCatcher from Gate. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was preliminarily up 1.19% at the close, while the S&P 500 gained 1.67% and the Nasdaq climbed 2.78%. Semiconductor-related names posted some of the strongest moves of the session. Micron Technology rose 18%, Sandisk jumped 26%, and SK Hynix added 17%. Nvidia also advanced by more than 2%. Chinese stocks listed in the US also moved higher, with the Nasdaq Golden Dragon China Index up 1.05%. Among individual names, iQIYI gained 4%.
